1 ka 100 (एक का सौ ) is a unique initiative for child right and education empowered by Sopaan.

Lead by Bhaskar Jindal, 1ka100 (एक का सौ) proposes an awareness drive in June 2010. Bhaskar, along with his navigator and co-driver Abhishek Chawla plans to drive from New Delhi to Mumbai covering a distance of about 1500 kms through the states of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra. The drive aims to raise a total sum of 1,50,000 INR.

Background

As an individual, Bhaskar has been contributing towards the cause of child welfare since his engineering college days. His source of inspiration is rooted in the efforts of various people and organizations working towards the cause all across the country. On the other hand, Abhishek Chawla begins his contribution to the cause with this initiative.

In association with Sopaan, Bhaskar and Abhishek propose this road drive called ‘1ka100’ to raise awareness and funds for child right and education.

Concept

1ka100 is a drive with a good cause. 1ka100 initiative shall generate funds from individual contributions as well as NGO and CSR sponsorships. The idea behind 1ka100 is that every 100 INR contributed to 1ka100 will support the team in spreading the message for 1 km. To ensure maximum participation, individual contribution amounts are kept at 100 INR or its multiples.

Throughout the drive, Bhaskar and Abhishek shall spread the word by means of banner display on their vehicles and pamphlets distribution on the way. They shall also meet the partner NGOs at multiple pit stops marked on their route. Details and updates of the drive shall be covered via media partners as well as Facebook and Twitter pages of Sopaan.

Ninety percent of the money raised through 1ka100 initiative shall be donated to partner NGOs doing exemplary work in the field of child right and education. As of now the NGOs that we would donate to are MAD (Make a Difference) and CanKids. Details of fund collation, distribution and utilization shall be made available to all donors, partner NGOs and Sponsors.
